Trump Adming Live updates: Senate to start 'a great Big Beautiful' bill 'vote-a-rama on Monday

The leaders of the Republican Party of the House of Representatives informed the legislators on Sunday night that their first vote about the “Big Big Beautiful Bill” would happen on Wednesday morning, since the Senate works through the measure and the main Republicans point to fulfill a self -imposed deadline of the Day of Independence.

“Members are informed that votes are now expected in the Chamber at 9 am on Wednesday, July 2. They are attentive to future updates to obtain additional information about this week’s calendar,” said a notice from the office of the majority of Whip Tom Emmer.

Republican leaders have told members who will receive 48 hours in advance before calling a vote and will have 72 hours to review the text of the bill.

Much must happen before the camera, which was supposed to be out of session this week for vacations, can even celebrate a vote on the floor on the Megabill.

First, the Senate needs to approve the bill and send it back to the lower chamber. Then, the rules committee will meet to advance the bill to the floor, which is expected to occur as early as Tuesday.

The speaker Mike Johnson and the leaders of the Republican party have been working during the weekend to block the votes even when several legislators expressed opposition to the Senate version, which is not yet finished. Johnson can only afford to lose three defections if all members vote and are present.

The moderate republican representative of California, David Valadao, said he will vote “no” given Medicaid’s changes in the Senate bill.

“Support the reasonable provisions in HR 1 that protect the long -term viability of Medicaid and ensure that the program continues to attend to our most vulnerable, but I will not support a final bill that eliminates vital financing transmissions that our hospitals depend, including the taxes of the suppliers and payments led by the State, or any provision that punishes the states of expansion,” said Valada in a statement on Saturday.

Several conservatives such as the representatives Chip Roy of Texas, Josh Breechen de Oklahoma and Eric Burlison of Missouri have also expressed their opposition to the Senate bill.

“I will not negotiate through X. But it is important to know that attacking with a bill before we have some opportunity to review the implications of important changes AND Rewrite, fluid scores, a high probability of violating the frame frame (deficits), AND Tons of Swamp Buy-Oks is bad, “Roy said in a post on X Saturday.

The leaders of the Republican Party of the House of Representatives organized a telephone conference on Saturday that instructed members who did not advertise their concerns with the bill, according to multiple sources.
