4 -year -old mountain bitten by Mountain Lion in the National Park: officials

A 4 -year -old boy was attacked by a mountain lion in a national park in the state of Washington, authorities said.

The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon in the Olympic National Park, near the Victoria Overlook area in Hurricane Ridge, according to the National Parks Service.

The boy was bitten by the mountain lion while walking with his family on a “popular path,” Park officials said.

The paramedics staff and the park responded and transferred to the victim through an air ambulance to a Seattle hospital, where the child receives treatment, Park officials said Monday. No additional details have been released on the child to protect their privacy, park officials said.

After the attack, Park Rangers immediately began looking for the cougar with a necklace, which was located and sent on Monday morning, park officials said.

“There are no current threats to the public,” said the national parks service in a Press release Mondays.

The incident remains under investigation. Witnesses of the attack are urged to communicate with the Parks Service to 888-653-0009 or send an email to nps_isb@nps.gov.

According to him National Parks ServicePumas are typically elusive and attacks against humans are rare.
