Trump says that 'it is possible' for the United States to get involved in the Israel-Iran conflict

President Donald Trump said Sunday that the United States is not involved in Israel’s military strikes, but “we may be involved.”

In an interview with Rachel Scott of ABC News, Trump said he is open to Russian president Vladimir Putin, served as a mediator in the conflict, something that said that the Russian president launched his phone call on Saturday.

Here are outstanding aspects of the interview:

In Israel’s last attack against Iran: “I think they were very devastating. He was very devastating. They were also beaten, but he was very devastating for Iran, mainly,” said the president.

On a deadline for Iran to reach the negotiating table: “No, there is no deadline. But they are talking. They would like to make a deal. They are talking. They continue to speak,” he said. “Something like that had to happen because I think even on both sides, but something like that had to happen. They want to talk and will be talking.”

When asked again about the conversations that are canceled, the president said he trusts that he can help the agreement: “He may have forced an agreement to go faster, actually.”

Will the United States get more involved in the conflict?: “We are not involved in Him. We may get involved. But we are not at this time involved,” said the president.

Putin as a mediator in the conflict: “Yes, I would be open to it. He is ready. He called me. We made a long talk about that. We talked about this more than his situation. This is something that I think will be resolved.”
